When i reread the poem the first few lines reminded me of going into a cold pool or ocean or something. You have to just jump right in, instead of wading in or gradually going in because you get too cold. That is compared to working in the poem. The author says that a person who has a good work ethic and is good at working just starts the job instead of waiting around.

I agree with you. In order to successfully complete a task you must try hard from the beginning and not procrastinate. I also think the poem was talking about how people rely on each other. Everybody needs to be contributing hard work so the task can be done.
